What If We Never Loved

How sad would it be if in our lives we never loved? Who would we be if there wasn't anyone for us to love or love us? How lonely would that make me, how empty would my life be, to be filled with nothing? I don't want to think on it, such an idea would keep me from who I am, not in the master plan. I need to remember this, when times seem unbearable and I cannot rally against the storms there have been moments in my life when others were there for me, with me in the fear and darkness, there was always - someone who loved me and someone for me to love. It is better to have love and lost then to have never loved at all. From Alfred Lord Tennyson's poem In Memoriam:27, 1850
