What If Today Was the Day?

What if today was the day?
You were reborn
A brand new life to portray
Old life to scorn

Would you follow the same road
Or start anew
New seeds of life to be sowed
New point of view

What if today was the day?
You were to wed
To be united as one
To forge ahead

To create a good future
Living to love
Be a caring observer
Be a part of

What if today was the day?
Your child's birth
Are you ready to allay
Behold their worth

A family to nurture
The seeds to sow
A caring life preserver
Watching them grow

What if today was the day?
The words you fear
To face life and come what may
The end is near

Would you reach out, far and wide
To find a cure
Could you say, you're satisfied
You need no more

What if today was the day?
It was to end
Would the good you did, outweigh
Would you amend

Did you fulfill all your dreams
What's your life's worth
Did you go to the extremes
Or need rebirth?
