What If Today Was the Day?

The common man worries
of money, health and fare.
But, to be very honest
there is no compare
to the worries of those
who everyday pray
for the welfare of others,
not themselves, on that day.

So, ask of yourself,
“Will I be one saved?”
Not worrying for others
shows the road that’s unpaved.
Instead, give unto others,
because that’s the only way
to make it Heaven, if you ask,
“What if Today was the Day?

It's easy to forget what is important. Things seem to fall in place when we put ourselves last. Good write. Vince

This is so true. What if today was the day. It would not be about the money and what we have. It will be about what we have done for others and given from our hearts. Beautiful write. God Bless Phyl

This really makes you think...I live my life the best I can so...if it is today I have no fear at all. I love poems that really make the reader think and contemplate. This certainly does that. My best to you, Charlie

Personally, my reward already lies here on earth, when I do reach out to help others. Anything else is just the icing on the cake. An important message in this wonderful write. Love, Shar
