What If
What if I opened the deepest abyss of my heart to you
What if I let you behold my midnight secrets
What if for a minute I let you see the skulls hidden deep down my closet,
What if I told you am not perfect and strong and confident;your kind of man
What if you saw me laying down there scared, scraped, scratched bruised and wounded with failure and shame
What if you realized I can't be able to fulfill all your fantasies
What if am too broke to give you that life you've always dreamed of
What if my bank account won't allow me to travel the world with you
What if I won't be able to propose to you in Paris and marry you off at those magnificent cathedrals in Rome as you've always wished.
What if I told you that my life is full of uncertainties
What if I told you I take one day at a time
What if I told you I am working for a better life one day,a day that am not even sure of its dawn.
Would you look straight to my face and tell me everything will be okay?
Would you still adore me and confess your undying love for me?
Would you join my hopelessness
And give me that reassuring smile when I need it most?
Am no fortified steel
But I take the challenges of life head on!!
Maybe....just maybe with you by my side
We can build our dreams together
We can comfort and reassure each other at our weakest moments
Now that's what I call growing in love
What if we can do it....just what if
