What I'D Give
What I’d give to know you, once more
My search party has long abandoned the journey
The expedition that left me in a complete void
Time after time,
You’ve seeped through the insecurities of my grip
Escaped from my self-conscious prison
You’ve evaded my romantic realm of remorse
What I’d give to find you, once more
What I’d give to feel you, once more
Maybe it was the course-ness of my voice that rebuked you
For you have fled far from my reach
Long has it been,
Since our souls communed
Possibly,
My heavy-handed authority left you bruised
Beneath the skin
What I’d give to soothe you, once more
What I’d give to show you, once more
You can reside in me
I am the essential atmosphere
The epitome of enchantment
Regal and refined
A promise of passion
A reason for romance
I yearn for you, come back
Come home
What I’d give to love you, once more
