What I Write

Apparantly i should have a style
I don't know about that...
Sometimes I feell like Sylvia Plath;
Sometimes Robbie Burns.
But all the time I feel like me -
And my mood.
Does that make me a lesser poet?
I don't know...
But I do know
That I
May feel sad one day
But happy the next.

It's a conundrum!

So many poets
So many styles...
Sometimes feels like
An 'Unquiet Grave'.

Vicky Tsiluma October 19, 2012 at 2:12 AM I like this Allen! Some people put too much emphasis in trying to figure out what a poet's style is that they deflect from the poem. I say a poet's style is like an idiosyncracy- no two people can speak exactly the same, no two poets can write the same. Thus whatever you write at a particular time, that's your style. Nicely done this!
