What I Want

I want to feel your heartbeat again, That electric sensation, Which tells me that, You love me. Let’s kiss until we’re dead, Drink until we can’t stop laughing, Lie on the floor of the warm apartment, Being affectionate and silly. I need endless hours with you, Moments which I could turn over in my mind, Songs which could remind me of you, Places which could inspire nostalgia. Yet I know that you can’t give me this, Because underneath the facade, Of a romantic intellectual, You’re just a shade too apathetic.

The desire and longing in this poem is strong while leading up to an ending that leaves the heart wanting. Nicely expressed emotions.
