What I See
In your eyes there are many things I see
There’s heartbreak and pain and a long dark night
A beating heart of gold looking at me
There is also beauty, a forceful light
I see your strength, your spirit young and wild
Your dedication for those that you love
The forgotten dreams of your inner child
How your eyes twinkle like the stars above
I see your faded trust, lost through the years
Your prison of doubt in the morning dew
Turmoil and pain in many hidden tears
But in all of this, I can still see you
I see a soul that’s magical to me
Each time that I look, this is what I see
