Such a lovely old memory Ria, though sad. In life many such unexpected things happen, good as well as bad... Is this for a contest? If so, best wishes my friend... Hugs... ~ Ani

Dear Andrea, Ahhh- the bittersweet ache of an unfinished love story. Raw, tender vulnerability dances between your lines, capturing love's ephemeral, haunting beauty with exquisite grace. Autumn Blessings, My Dear Friend, Daniel

Sad, if it is a fact, but beautifully expressed. Console yourself that you have got many things which you haven't sought! Congratulations Andrea for being once again number one on this site!

He came into town when I worked at 7/11 and only stayed a week, but right away he saw me at the store and we went out. Best week of my life. We sent letters to each other when he went back to Quebec and then lost track. He found out my number when I was married three years later and with my first baby. It was bittersweet getting that last phone call from him.

Yes, it remains a pristine memory that time could not soil.

I expect many think about the one that got away from time to time. As you say it’s something we’ll never know. Oddly enough I’ve just written a poem on this subject. Take care, Richard.

Thanks. I really don't sit around regretting things. It makes for nice poetry though. I probably have more than 20 poems just on that one guy and several other poems on other guys I dated

Andrea, ahh...such is life for us all who have the ability to look around and love. Eventually we settle down and make the best out of what we have. Lately, I've thought less and less about what was, and more and more about where I am. It seems to be a much happier state. Smiles!!

Yes . Life is what it is. And maybe that guy would have had flaws I never saw. I don't really think about it. But I like to write poems about it

It's ok. Probably wouldn't even have lasted. He was too good to be true if you get my drift
