What I Long For

What do you see when you look at me
Do you see a lonley girl
afraid of what her world will become
Or do you see someone brave
just awaiting her destiny
Tell me when you look in my eyes
do you see the real me
or the person I wear as a disguise
This world can be a very lonley place
Knowing that I don't want to be alone
I still run away from love cause I know it hurts
Why do I long for something more all the time
Each time I just let go and let them in
they destroy the hope inside of me
So I should just hide away
Never let anyone get inside
never let anyone see the real me
Cause that's the easiest way
But it's not where I want to be
I could search the whole world
for everything besides love
But in my heart it's what I long for
             the most
