What I Know of Love - For My Parents

What I know of love
I learned from you
From all those times
you picked me up
when I fell
and told me everything would
be ok
A kiss and a hug from you
and everything was
You never gave up on me
or each other
And as I watched you
weather the storms of life together
I learned that Love
is easy
but Life takes work
And it was you who taught me
that the things that truly matter
in life
aren't really things at all -
respect, compassion,
kindness, honesty
All that makes me
who I am today
But most of all I learned
that a parent's love
is like no other
And I wanted you to know
there are no other parents
more loved and cherished
than you
