What I Get From Poetry
I've loved poetry for the longest time
A favourite poet is Robert Frost
"A Road Not Taken"is very dear to me
Every time I read and re-read it, I get something different
The message is never the same.
"Don't Copy Cat" is another poem I enjoy
He wrote a short little verse that made a lot of sense.
"Don't like the cat, try to get more out
of an experience than there is in it.
The cat, having sat upon a hot stove lid,
will not sit upon a hot stove lid again.
Nor upon a cold stove.
A lesson has been learned here!
Then there is a small verse by 'Anonymous'
Titled " The Moron":
"See the happy moron":
He doesn't give a dam!
I wish I were a moron-
My God ! Perhaps I am!"
This makes me giggle every time I read it.
No matter what type of poetry I read
I get a special meaning from it.
