What I Gave
What is with this bad behavior
I am tryna be your savior
Pulling you out of this rut
Do I have to kick your butt
Out of this gangs initiation
Each days a continuation
Of my efforts to make you see
This false sense of reality
They've been marking on your brain
It's becoming such a strain
To get your head out of the clouds
Maybe if I got more loud
And angry you might just hear
Love in my voice to show I care
Your innocence is being taken
By gang members who are fakin'
The real reasons they want you
Isn't cause their friendships true
They just need a patsy that
Will take the fall when things go "splat"
MY best ideas are not working
They just still continue jerking
You around just like a slave
It doesn't matter what I gave
To keep you out and not sucked down
By so called friends who come around
There's nothing left I can do
It's totally up to you
For noticing that I will be
A real friend--why can't you see
That what I give is so much more
Than these clowns outside the door
