What I Did

I get it
I finally understand
You did not feel like my first choice
And the problem is you weren't
But you should have been
I treated you like I have been treated before
I once felt like you
I didn't realize that until it was too late
That is how come I lost my best friend
I wasn't his first choice anymore and he wasn't the same
But maybe we can rebuild you and I
We can't fix what is broken
But we can make a new
Just give me a chance
And let me tell you this
You have made me better
Thank You

"Have I lived enough? Have I loved enough? ... Have I experienced happiness with sufficient gratitude? Have I endured loneliness with grace? I say this, or perhaps I'm just thinking it. Actually, I probably think too much." From 'The Gardener' by Mary Oliver

Wow. That's some potent ink! I felt that, in the heart. Excellent piece Oliver. xomo
