What I believed

Looking back, I shouldn't be surprised at all; thinking of the lies they claimed were gospel true: Humpty Dumpty didn't sit upon the wall, families don't really live inside a shoe, Jack and Jill just made it up about that fall, Shakespeare's Katherina always stayed a shrew, Santa doesn't bring the gifts on Christmas Eve... crazy then that I'd believe you'd never leave!

Dear Jack, your poetic pen is ever creative and clever. Your verse in this poetry form is so expressive and exceptional.. and the poignant pang of the last line was impactful. But of course I expect nothing less than impressive from you. Warmest wishes my poet friend.. ~Susan
