What I Believe

Where can we go when times are tough? To whom can we give our trust? Religious people have their God, and they say faith is a must. I’m not quite as religious now as I was in days of yore. Belief in God I still maintain, but proof I’m not looking for. The friends I have and that I count as the truest friends of mine are not so many, but to have true friends is a gift divine. And always I can count upon my sisters and my mother. I thank God for a family that loves well one another. To love oneself and trust oneself, OH, may all souls feel this way, and know that truth and joy they’ll find in the "great beyond" one day!

What an inspiring piece Andrea... to celebrate what one has. The line "that loves well one another" is beautiful...the world would be much kinder if everyone 'lived' your words. so refreshing to read. lynnxxx

For someone who says she's not religious any more, she pours her soul out and I see religious thoughts in her words all the time. Beautiful poem.

The winds can change and rearrange what once seemed strange. And find us here facing our fear as we still need to steer. To arrive to a place where we know peace. Where all we want is for our love to increase. Finding faith is a personal journey that we as individuals all must take if we ever hope to have peace in our souls. I wish you peace Andrea. Hugs.

This poem is refreshing, a delight, Andrea. I love the attitude in each line, so softly it firmly resonates belief as cozy as a soft throw one might wrap up in and feel secure. All the best, A FRIEND ... CayCay

Very optimistic work here. I often talk with my sisters and mother - my father passed away about 7 years ago. He was a fine piano player and our place was always full of the sound of music. "A great beyond"? Let's hope so! I will try to get you out may latest chapbook today! Peace & Love Matthew Anish

God is the unified factor of this world and each one of us is a proof of his existence! Now since you believe in the great beyond you are religious for the word religious, as you know, comes from the Latin word "Religare" which means "unite" in this case the physical and the metaphysical world! Great poem, profound and dynamic dear, Andrea! A seven!

Right on, Andrea. : ) It has really hit home with me in the past couple years how important (and magical and awesome) family can be, and this is with my parents turning 80 years old. And I shudder to think of the pain that exists in some families.
