What Has Happened To Us?
We hardly talk anymore
And when we do
Our words are anything
But loving and kind
What has happened to us?
So often, the violence came
To my body and soul
That our planned future together
I could no longer find
What has happened to us?
Our meaning of the rose
What, to us, it symbolized
Is now something obsolete
And its beauty, I am but blind.
What has happened to us?
The roads we once paved
With our devoted love
Have now crumbled beneath us
Past memories keep it de fined
What has happened to us?
We don't talk anymore
And if we every do
I hope for all our sakes
The words can be loving and kind.
