What Good News
What good news is there to bring
to make us laugh and our children sing?
What good news will bring delight
and chase all fears from our sight?
What can be said to bring a smile
when children are dying all the while?
When madmen are roaming schools in search of prey
and taking the lives of our young away.
When cruelty and pain are part of our lives
and evil continues to grow like a rushing tide.
What good news is there to spread
when all that we do is keep count of the dead?
Disorder, disorder is all that we see
so we pray to God on bended knee.
Lord deliver us from this moral decay
and take not our lives away.
Send down your angels to smite all that is bad
So once again we can be happy and glad.
Come put an end to our sorrow and pain
and let love and happiness reign once again.
What good news is there to bring?
The Lord is coming to be our king.
