What Else

what else is there to write about
if not love?
who cares of the meanderings of man
as a soloist?

his woeful voyage of various
passionlessness
engagining in his lonely
megalomania

the capital I(d)

what else is there to live for
if not love?

wandering the barren grime of urban
landscapes
weathering its electric storms
without adore
with the insane belief
that less is more

"no!" i say
this is not for me
this is not
for us

Indeed it is not for 'us'...well at least, not for you my dear! Whenever I read your work, I fear it is I whom art the hack. Your awe struck Brian-ette, Kat x

Now, this, I really like. I thought the phrasing is clever, (or my style). Great piece of poetry!

Megalomania. Hummm- I get so involved with the poems that I read. Out here am I, in the woods, not quite alone, in cyberspace. Living with less, when I had more. But the less has opened my door. Now, I sit down and write so much. And hopefully, another heart I shall touch. With humbleness, care, understanding... and more. I really like your poem. I had to take a second look at myself. And sanity. .. the capital (I)d - always enjoys your comments on my work. Thank you. Lovingly, Dane

I've always wondered why people believe "less is more." Thank you for the affirmation in this beautiful reflection on the inspiration love provides. Great line: "the capital I(d)." (My PhD sister recently asked me what "id" meant. LOL) Excellent poem! Love, Carolyn
