Notes About The Poem

What Drives Us

Honed by time, review how attitudes change, shifting from feral to ethereal. Erst cravings material, seem so strange, our face mirrored by time, inimical. Our upliftment, indeed a miracle, fears and desires replaced by loving heart, wherein we deem all souls one, none apart. Thus, shifting from grasping to connecting, in God we trust, who our life course does chart, our emptiness, with boundless grace filling. Motivation to act, needs a doer but no one is here, once we vaporise, recognising God alone the mover, childlike presence, receptive to surprise, delighting in bliss currents as they rise. Yet a question is posed, which we answer, yearning for God-connect does not waver, moment to moment, as moments entwine, with singular focus, thus in prayer, we seek our consciousness becomes divine. 19-July-2021 Motivation poetry contest Sponsor: Shreya LN

That's the key word: In God we trust.
