What Doesnt Kill Us

What doesn’t kill us …. may smother our soul while brain and body breath yet, as ever so; Fragile core pieces may splinter and ache, mourn the sparks fate did not wake while notions continue for motion's sake; What doesn’t break us …. may garrote our spirit, burn our ink to day dark dust where no write pens a peaceful brush or pain stroked hush. Caycay, you write with such emotion! There was some great imagery, especially in the line: garrote our spirit. Wow, that was incredible. And the pained hush at the end. I love your take on this difficult topic (well for me it was not too easy anyway)

ahhhhh...yes. A saying that is little solace when you feel like you're a breath away from death. You have exposed the truth well. Thanks for all your visits to my poems. Sending hugs

Deep and dark CayCay - I too wondered about the capitalisation of the letter 'I' I am so lucky I do not suffer from depression but know many do and how debilitating it can be ... keep spilling the ink and never lose that fighting spirit CayCay :-) hugs jan xx

Creatively expressed CayCay, the pain in this is flowing in your words. I am curious though of the I being capitalized in spirit and pain. Is that a creative expression or does it hold a certain significance for you or to this piece?

Good question. I believe our eternal and internal 'spark' is our "I AM" which is what is injured in this poem. Thank you for your delightful comment and interest! Happy Monday Morning, Chris! Hugs ... CayCay
