What Does Friendship Look Like

TO A FRIEND I ALMOST MISSED

what does friendship look like

white paper folded
again and again
captures many things
deep within its creases.

the folding is the nature of zen
quiet, contemplative, meditation
allowing questions, in time,
to seek their answers.

today I explore creases
sitting in my garden
beside a small pool
I begin to unfold.

What a wonderful thought! What does friendship look like? Well, an older man once said to me: "A hand-out is what the state gives to you, son...a hand-up is what a friend extends". Beautifully put, old fella...beautifully put! :) john

Thank you Jannie. Yes to me origami. It begins with an untouched sheet on which the two create a history of memories. Friendship in my mind is a being created by two persons exploring. The creases are the highs and lows etc.
