What Do You Want
In life, many of our achievements are balanced by the sacrifice required to attain them.
We look at a beautiful dance or an exquisite athletic performance and cannot comprehend the sacrifice that went into it. Olympic athletes prepare for years for one performance.
Most mortals are not prepared to put in the time, effort, dedication, commitment or sacrifice required to achieve these goals.
Whatever your life path and choices, focus on meaning, purpose, integrity and goodness. Leave a positive difference in the lives and hearts of others.

You say you want glory
But you don't put in the work
Even talent requires time
Years of effort to perfect the outputs
You say you want to be famous
To be remembered in history
But without integrity and sacrifice
You might be mired in the wrong dreams
You say you want success
But you don't want to learn or grow
You think social media
Is the quickest way to go
You say you want awards
But accolades are only moments
You need to show commitment
And dedication to something noble
You say you want money
But money isn't gratifying
Without passion and purpose
Money won't hold your head up high
You say you want to go far
But achievement is perspective
Without introspection and focus
You might be chasing the wrong vision
You say you want a legacy
But what could you possibly leave?
Without compassion or integrity
Your life is hollow and unreal
What do you want?
Because fame and money isn't a real goal
You can't form a true connection
Without giving your heart and soul
Your life is filled with choices
It's up to you to make them worthwhile
When you look back on it one day
I hope you'll feel proud and feel your heart smile
