What Do You Hear?

Stop!
Wait a moment.
Listen.
What do you hear?

Is there sound
Or is it silent?
Is it loud or soft?
Is it piercing?
Is it frightening and scary?

Close your eyes.
Listen carefully.
Is it startling and terrifying?

Close your ears.
Is it still there?
Is it alarming and daunting?

Open your heart.
Is it there?
What do you hear?
Is it shocking and ghastly?

Is it the world you hear
Or is it you?

I like this one as well. Very concrete.
