What Did I Wish For Myself

When the huge and heavy ball dropped in Times Square what did I wish for myself? I wanted to reach it, but it was way too tall... I resembled a jumping elf! In everyone's eyes shone hope for real joy, putting aside dreary days; someone was holding hands... imagining that darkness would be vanishing making way for happiness, did he think it would be completely gone? Nobody could have guessed what I wished for myself, it must have been the same wish they had: was it love, was it peace or was it joy? I could have hugged everybody and given them hope and taken away their sad looks of anger and mistrust. telling them to have faith in tomorrow when its light would be brighter than a glow! What did I wish for myself the minute those exciting screams arose? Did I see a beautiful sky of shooting fireworks or something sensational that was more than a pretty rose? What did you wish for yourself while some grieved and others rejoiced and showed no fears?
