What Depression Means To Me

I see shades of blue in a brightly hued world. So much blue, that my rivers overflow With sadness and pain and sorrows and rain That effuses down in emotion And sometimes the river swallows me whole, And I slice my way out to the top But the shore is dry— Brimming with nothing and empty And everyone else is alive.

This poem delighted me, Avery. Especially this part: "And I slice my way out to the top But the shore is dry—" Welcome to Soup!
