What Comforts You

When times are hard, and troubles come
What comforts you, what makes you calm?

A cup of tea,
A crust of bread,
A psalm to read,
A warm soft bed.
Who do you turn to when in pain?
A parent, yes,
A nurse or kin,
A priest to bless,
A trusted friend.

When times are hard, and troubles come
It’s all of these that give you calm.
But when your troubled soul won’t cease
It’s faith in HIM that gives you peace.
