What Christmas Means

What Christmas means

Christmas is a time for family
          Coming together from everywhere
Just to see one another so eagerly
To catch up on what gone on this year
With trimming and balloons all around
A tree that’s trimmed down to the ground
Tables piled high with snacks in the room
Many lights all around to hide any gloom

Gifts and crackers help make the day
As we watch the children at their play
Turkey and veg piled high on our plates
Not forgetting the pudding and cakes
And the boasting from all the family
Telling us all what they do daily
Fun and games we will play

Then down we sit at the end of the day
To peace and quiet and time to reflect
On the perfect times with no regret
That we will not see many of the family
Till next time when we again will meet
