What Are You Doing Here

What are you doing here? Are you where you're supposed to be? 
What are you doing here? It's not just a question of curiosity
We are not always where we need to be when it comes to God 
We are often times out of our place and trouble tends to start
As God has a predestined purpose for us on his mind
And when we are not where we need to be we usually find
Ourselves in situations that aren't conducive to our destiny
Stuck in those places where God does not want us to be

Now Elisha was in a cave hiding from Queen Jezebel 
Hurt, hungry, confused, overcomed and overwhelmed 
Then God sent an angel with food and supplies 
And the Holy Spirt descended and asked Elisha why
Are you still in this cave stuck in this hole?
God has sent you a directive to go out and be bold 
Jezebel has no authority as it's God who runs this show 
Get up and get moving to where God has told you to go 

Many of us have allowed fear, disappointments and shame 
To turn us into cave dwellers stuck in mental places of pain 
Feelings of abandonment, depression and despair 
Have caused us to have forgotten that God is and will always be there 
The same God that watched over Daniel when he was in the lions den
The same God that was in the inferno with those three young Jewish men
The same God that parted the Red Sea to save the Israelites 
The same God Who somehow sent you money when ConEd was about to turn off your lights 
The same God Who has always given you the strength to cope
The same God that gave us His love a sound mind and the spirit of hope 

Yes there will be wilderness periods and desert terrains 
Just trust and believe in the One whose name is above all other names 
Never forget who you are and whose you are as well 
You're a child of the Living God who defeated death and hell 

So what are you doing here? I need you to understand 
That your mental, physical and spiritual well-being are firmly in God's hands 
Now pick yourself up and put on your big pants 
No matter how you're feeling just get up and simply stand 
Pull yourself together and gird up your loins
Remember you're with Jesus and have it going on
Just reposition yourself and get to the place of worship and praise 
Now in the presence of God with your hands and voice raised 
Ready to pursue your purpose and let your destiny manifest 
Now full of the Holy Spirit highly favored and totally blessed 

So what are you doing here? Are you where you should be?
What are you doing here? I hope fulfilling your destiny
