What Are We Fighting For
Somewhere in America
You & I are part of War
Although it's hard for us to see
We are to be or not to be.
What are we Fighting for?
Somewhere in America
If you simply just explore
There is a boy who's blind, you see
He's still much like you & me
What are we Fighting For?
Somewhere in America
A mother cries some more
She lost her son overseas
He died protecting you & me
What are we Fighting For?
Somewhere in America
Some things we must ignore
Don't ever try to intervene
Dont speak up, you'll cause a scene
What are we Fighting For?
Somewhere in America
Someone's keeping score
They're all around & in between
& some may be part machine
What are we Fighting For?
Somewhere in America
You & I are part of more
We stick yogether like sardines
& yet we play on different team's
What is it that we're Fighting For?
