what are the stars for

Since everything makes sense, I think,
What are the stars for?
It’s up to us to observe them,
To imagine why they shine,

Are they there, to make us dream?
To make us think, or write
For us to measure distances
Which separates us from galaxies?

What are the stars for?
Their light does not come from the sun,
So there are other Christmas trees
Far from our beloved planet,

What are the stars for?
They shine on the American flag,
They shine in the eyes of young girls,
So we must love all these stars
Like our loved sisters.

Puisque tout a un sens, je crois,
À quoi servent les étoiles ?
À nous, de les observer,
D’imaginer pourquoi elles brillent,

Interesting insight into how you think yann... The first line makes it for me, because I believe that nothing makes sense. That's why I love that you add "I think" to the idea that everything makes sense; that means that you are thinking. I'm babbling at this point in my comment, and so why not try to link Descartes' "Je pense donc que je suis" into the mix lol. I like the way you think yann. Thanks
