What Am I
When we can't take it any more
it's all we can see
It's the whites of our eyes
after crying them out incessantly
Highly flammable
Great balls of fire
Goodness gracious, danger ahead, stop!
It's a situation that is fathoms beyond dire
Texas Chainsaw, Freddy, Jason
Blood, guts and gore
Out out damn spot? Surely said in jest
Bludgeoned puzzle pieces, remains on the floor
Before my quill becomes totally saturated
by that gory syrupy goo
I'm reminded that there is that
softer, more palatable side too
Satiny petals left in a trail
leading to sultry stained lips
Patina of the dress that fits like a glove
Ruby glistening nails gracing beckoning fingertips
Flat or bubbly, just a matter of taste
spirits lift as glasses are raised
Berries and cherries delicious by themselves
or as desserts, eaten sweetened or glazed
Declaring love within a lacy valentine
A gift of adoration from the heart
Donated, a most precious gift of life
Allowing a heart to throb, til death do us part
Can't help but make a statement
When all else has been said
Yes I know you know that I know you know
Based upon what the reader has read...
