What a Wonderful Life

Every day I sit watching and waiting
the next move I'm anticipating
abrupt sudden and throws me off course
like ships in the night we pass
only the tears telling the true story of our love
who is it that I've become
I look into the mirror
only seeing my tear stained cheeks
Is this the peak of it all
downhill I will fall
Further into the abyss
only hurting each other
never stopping to wonder
if any of this is real
we were so young back then
even when we were just kids
not knowing what was happening
but ending up terrified of the future
bound together forever
now all grown up and looking back
what was it all for
the laughs and the cries
was it all worth it in the end
when I felt like I wanted to hide
now I never stopping to think twice
what a wonderful life
