What a Day

What a day, it’s been today
Day of tears and day of pain
Day of fears and placing blame
This is the day, familiar, changed

Today I woke, like days before
But got a taste of days in store
Acidic, tart and hard core
Good old days would not restore

Yesterday was just like any day
A day of work with little pay
Day birds chirped, I complained
Today, I watched it wash away

How ironic this day, has proved
The mundane grout, no longer, smooth
Stability packed and quickly moved
Blessings got tired of daily abuse

What a day, it’s been today
A day to end my former days
Days before, I complained
Today I watched it wash away
