Western Skies

in bare hands you tilt
my earth to seek western skies
spirits set the sun
bare feet chase red jasper realms
from black-onyx sky

Rhonda, yours was the most mysterious for me. I could not quite put my finger on its meaning (though I have an idea of it) but it emotes sadness and the imagery of the last two lines is outstanding. Congrats for your win in my contest.

the imagery is my attempt at an ending (of one life) and new beginnings (of the next life). I know it wasn't clear, but I was trying to leave it slightly vague for interpretation by the reader. Thanks for the placement :))

Eloquent sorrow well told in this gem. The last line is simply amazing.

So sad, but so touching, Rhonda. I feel the emotional lament. Best Wishes for the contest. Hugs, Sandra
