We're sent from heaven above
I wrote this after hearing about the moving experience of an actress's ordeal. May she remember to stay true to herself and to remain honest and authentic. Keep shining.
We're sent from heaven above

You say that I'm a great actress
But ridicule my honesty in being
Somehow you expect duality
Wanting me to separate from my feelings
It doesn't seem to matter
That I am human and I'm real
You think that if you're hurtful
That I'm like celluloid and can't feel
You want beauty without nature
You want honesty without the truth
You want emotions without feeling
You want a robot dressed as human
What is it that you fear so much?
What buttons are my emotions pushing through?
What about me is so fearsome to you?
What about my womanhood is taboo?
Somehow I've got to thinking
That your problems aren't with me
I'm merely the one you scapegoat
You feel naked with my truth and freedom
My light is overwhelming
My impact is beyond yours
I live a life that's authentic
I'm remembered and adored
Maybe one day you'll feel it
Maybe you'll see beyond your vision
That we're all important and worthy
What we do matters for God's mission
Maybe one day you'll know it
Embrace kindness and joy and love
You'll accept that we all have a purpose
That we're sent from heaven above
