We're Headed Down a Different Road
By Franklin Price
5/6/2016
We're headed down a different road
Could be either good or bad
The times are so much different now
Than the “remember whens” we had
Values that we had back then
Being challenged ever day
We, and the children, of the present time,
Lead life a different way
No longer are we waiting
A day or two to get the news
Or wait to visit world around
To find out different views
Getting answers to our questions
Is just a touch for we
Our smart phones tell us everything
Including pictures that we see
There is no need to travel
To see how others live
Social media will tell us
It has oh so much to give
Instantaneous a problem
Gives us no time to think
Is what we get a truth or lie?
In our lives that's quite a chink
Verbal information questionable
Visual, edited and photo shopped
The falseness of them rampant
In our brains they must be cropped
Take the time to ask the question
Is what we see or hear a truth or lie?
Paths in life dependent on it
Should we laugh or should we cry?
Must be careful what we send along
And the things that we believe
Don't send or act if it's not proven
When we send or act we can't retrieve
