We're Eternal Souls
We're eternal souls created by God;
He has gifted us with both birth and Death.
We aren't born perfect, and yet, we're not flawed;
for it's not a sin to enjoy each breath,
to experience love, or to be awed.
How you live your life is left up to you
God's not keeping a list, checking it twice;
Man was given free will, not chores to do.
While life encompasses naughty and nice,
God's forgiveness erases sins; that's true!
We waste time worrying about dying:
but we're eternal souls, Death's not the end;
thus dying need not be terrifying.
Our faith teaches that our souls will ascend,
while mortal feelings allow for crying.
An all-consuming shadow in the dark,
The Angel of Death approaches unseen.
And shrouded in myth, it seems grim and stark,
for its arrival is oft unforeseen;
and it's feared, for extinguishing life's spark.
