Well of Wishes
Well of Wishes
Sullen skies have lifted
The final raindrops have fallen
The sun is smiling joyously above
Nature’s boudoir buds in golden sand
Ivy is crawling up the garden walls
Deeply colored carved petals of emerald
Wild periwinkles weave their magic
Along the royal cobblestones of grey
Before the pond stands a wishing well
That dried up long ago, when new life rose
Transparent butterflies floated to the top
Void of color from darkness, freed from captivity
Sailing in a flight of purity, wings dusted in gold
Keepers of millions rising from the ashes unfold
Returning the gardens soul, restoring its beauty
Raising the willow of wisdom to oversee its growth
By the living water of sparkling falls
Eye pools, windows of sight to the soul
Where the fractured land finds healing
And the wishing well has transformed into
The well of Hope
And
Wishes are laid to rest
