Welcome To My Holiday Home

Carols are hummed by the mom of this home
Christmas lights are shining for the ones I hold dear
A hot chocolate with creamy foam?
Welcome to my holiday home at this special time of year

The oven is baking, the blender is shaking, yum!
Nativity is reminding me to praise and not fear
Faithful ones in search of a babe come
Welcome to my holiday home at this special time of year!

What time is dinner, "Mom"? You have a great start for your kyrielle here, Doris. You're helping us get in the Christmas spirit and I can smell the cookies baking as you hum carols. (My mom was always singing softly as she cooked.) Best wishes in the contest! Love, Carolyn

Thanks your comments on my Holiday Limtericks. I should have seriously followed your suggestion to use this year's gifts for the next year to give but nobody gives me the gifts on holidays as I am quite old enough to give gifts and not receive it,hahahah.

I really liked this poem! It reminds me of when I was a child before my mother passed away, what a lovely home she made it! I carried that tradition on to my own home years later, and now my children are carrying it on in their own homes! How amazing it is, the passing of time, and the things that can bring a touch of nostalgia back to vivid memory! Thank you for sharing this!
