Welcome of the Palms Ovation

Welcome of The Palms Ovation

Cold sharp dawn
Of chrome lit silver
Dusty summer heat no more
Clean polished sun
Risen in perfect sea of azure skies

The lines of palms
Are twinkling suffused natures decorative
Flimsy delicate tips
Of fronds caught dancing
Shimmer and shimmy together
With a soft winds breezing
Glitter electric in their
Skyward dusting reach

Shivered light from their stretching arms
Random ballets sparkle
Catching stars of falling water
Hang momentum frozen
As with spangled flitter
The Palms are talking
In tones of daylight fireworks
Pyrotechnic fountains
Of scintillations green

Soft explosion spray
Their anthem of beauty
To the breaking day

Wow, great poem and great imagery. I love your metaphor to describe these beautiful trees, so many of which are succumbing to disease. What a sad thought if they were no longer to form a part of our landscape. Love, Nigel
