Notes About The Poem

Welcome Home poem by Max Burchett

Welcome Home by Max Burchett

by Max Burchett

Been so long,
You have been gone.
Missing you, so wrote this song.
Welcome back home.

I know you had to go.
What you had to do.
Now it is all done.
Still I was missing you.

Oh how time flies.
Was time good to you?
Now here we are
Can we make up the time?

This I wonder,
Is it true?
Has absence of me, for you
Made your heart grow fonder?

For me,
That is true.
Presence now is how it should be
Together again, eternally me and you.

Never again do we part
In spirit together again in time
A new life now we start
Welcome home evermore.

A lovely poem. Are you on Instagram? I put some poems on there (Daisy Meadows book name). I have just published my first poetry book.
