Weeping Sky

Weeping sky, downcast sky,
laden with winter sorrow, with winter apology.
Ruminating sky, regretful sky,
pregnant with unsettled mind, unsettled life.
Necessary suffering sky replenishing, restoring
all the waters of sustenance.
Is this the agony women know in labor?
Birthing, stretching, moaning sky,
helpless cry, billowy churning sky,
light-starved and dejected.
We can only wait for nature’s cloud break,
nature’s mandate from a brighter angle of the sun.

Such a fine, fine poem Thomas. You've caught the sky in a mournful tempest. Let's hope bleak clouds break for the people of Ukraine so the sun might brighten itself in their survival. Truly, a stellar poem! Be well. Brian

Within the natural seasonal cycles, there appears to be a necessary period of pain and suffering. This annual cycle in the sky gives birth to new life in spring. Let us hope for an end of the hell in Ukraine and a spring of peace and freedom! Take care, Brian!
