Weep Not For Me

When my tired frame seeks it’s final rest, to remain in perpetuity as eternity’s guest; held fast within the arms of timeless sleep: Do not weep. Do not weep! Pray think on the man that once was I, and think of me at peace - I did not die. though I've no further need to sow nor reap. Do not weep. Do not weep! When daily labours apportioned man end, as does my brief allotted span. Upon my head, no false praises heap. Do not weep. Do not weep! Let not tomorrow think too unkind of the legacy I shall leave behind, for me, no mourning vigil keep. Do not weep. Do not weep! As falls the grape from the withered vine, so comes my destiny, as will thine! When rests my Soul in eternal sleep, Even now ‘tis timely not to weep! May 21st, 2017
