AUGUST MACKE - Lady in Green

a tear
and a sigh
of what might have
                      been-
the
so sad
memories
of
this lady in
            green

  young life
       a forfeit-
singleness her
cross

the blank
face of loneliness
 it speaks
        aloud
a unique moment in time
                  captured

a butterfly momement

a universal experience.

human condition on
         frozen faces
sepia images
     posed pictures
asking
    ‘I am here

where are you?'

left for imagination

faceless impressionion
..there but...
perhaps
  a perpetual enigma

imagination
        to unfurl the knot.
