Weekend Blues

She had the weekend blues,
Alone on the weekend.

Looked forward to seeing him during the week,
He is such good company she thought.

There were other acquaintances and friends,
Nice to see them now and then.

We don't always comprehend God's plan,
God gives us friends that we aren't lonely.

Enamored by his handsomeness,
Somehow they appreciated another.

Her divorced husband had telephoned her on her birthday,
They were friends after all these years.

The children had telephoned to see how I am,
That was very nice and kind.

I thought I am not very lonely after all,
We continue to be blessed by God.
