Wedding Memory
To say "I do", the new chapter begins
You there, standing so tall
in that blue uniform
So nervous you seem
as time approaches near
In my gown, I await
trying to fight the nerves away
Within the ivory white
my life begins to change
My father stands near by
A smile for all to see
Waiting behind a line
full of those I cherish and love
I wait for the seconds
to dwindle and vanish
Then its my time
to take that walk down the path
Holding to my father
tight as I always have
He hands me to my love
the new foundation in my life
As the words are uttered
I only remember the "I do's"
we uttered out loud to each other.
