Webs

We are in webs of lies,
What we believe and what we see.

But what is really behind the truth of reality?

The minds of those who want and need
The lies of those who pry and deceive.

What is it we hope to achieve?

Through the wishes and demands for a second chance,
Wanting a change without the drive of an acting stance.

We expect so much, but what do we truly give?

In the hearts of a battered soul
The reprise of breaking through into the light

Where is our gift, where is the delight?

So easy to appease with quick wits to judge
The strength of hatred and disgust from word of tongue

Where does the deceit of treachery end?

To sit and take a breath in the modern light of serenity
A long battle through the web of lies, to open one’s eyes.
