Weathering With You
Some avoid the shallows,
And others shun the depths;
But I would drown in your sorrow,
And every tear you’ve wept.
Some read for the rhythm,
Others accord me the rhyme;
But I would let forth the minim,
And press on with just a dime.
Some see beyond your smiles,
Others are bent on façade;
But I would caress your solemn soul,
And hold the hand inside.
And I’ll head toward the edifices,
And vault myself through chasms, vast—
Where love will bring the sunny weather,
Where love will heal your heart at last.
