Weary

Sorrow, my sorrow, you leave me without despair, A sadness so deep, I’ve no room to spare, Waking, so slowly, her lips left my own, Only to leave me wanting, and once again alone, Darkness, come back, give empty arms something to hold, Even if you only offer, bitterness and cold, It can do no harm, for I’ve not long my friend, My sadness nearly over, my time near it’s end. Forever, so close, like the sun upon my face, Carrying me to my beloved, it matters not the place, For as long as we’re together, her arms in mine, Paradise would be with me, and eternity would be divine. Oh darkness, lift this sadness I keep, Rest for the weary, let me sleep that eternal sleep.
